I am a leader in the field of eco-tourism, with 26 years of international inbound Africa experience. My passion lies in international inbound tourism and the safari eco-tourism conservation environment.

I am an exceptional people’s person with excellent communication skills and sound financial acumen, having been in business throughout my adult life.

My eye for detail, particularly in interior environments, is evident in everything I do.

I have a strong trade marketing background, supported by a personal database of 23,000 tour operators and agents worldwide, built over my 26-year career — a significant advantage in a management role.

I am a single South African divorced man aged 54 and have no baggage. I do not smoke nor drink.

I do not have a formal qualification in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration or a related field, but I have a solution for work permit requirements through a specialised agent in Johannesburg. This is based on my “special skills & talents”, namely being an elephant whisperer and a community development expert.

I have 26 years of proven experience in luxury lodge, hotel, and resort management, most of which has been within a safari and eco-tourism environment.

I possess strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams.

My communication and interpersonal skills are excellent, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with guests and staff alike. I am fluent in English and Afrikaans, and I also speak Zulu, Xhosa, Siswati (Swazi), and a little Shangaan.

I have sound financial acumen with experience in managing budgets, cost control, and income and expenditure. I have also developed a proven system for managing food costs within lodge environments.

My knowledge of health and safety regulations and labour relations within hospitality operations has been developed over my career and is well established.

I am proficient in standard office software and property management systems and can adapt to new systems with ease.

I have worked in South Africa, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe, giving me a strong understanding of multi-cultural environments, particularly within Africa.

My understanding of lodge operations and guest service standards is extensive.

I am highly organised, plan well in advance, and bring strong organisational and problem-solving ability.

Conflict resolution comes naturally to me, whether with guests or staff, with a focus on practical and balanced outcomes.

My customer service approach is consistent, with a clear focus on delivering a high-quality guest experience.

I am aligned with sustainable tourism principles and environmental conservation, and apply these practices within lodge operations wherever possible.
